The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund’s Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Facility is pleased to announce the six organizations selected through its fifth call for proposals. Spanning nine Caribbean island states and territories, these projects will advance nature-based climate adaptation across some of the region's most vulnerable communities and ecosystems, with a combined grant portfolio of US$13.4 million and more than US$5.5 million in co-financing commitments.  An inception workshop was held in the Dominican Republic, 3-4 December 2025.

CESAL will implement From Mountain to Reef, a project designed to improve ecosystem management and protection, strengthen resilience, and reduce climate risks for communities in Southern Hispaniola that spans both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

CLEAR Caribbean has been awarded the Targeted Ridge-to-Reef Ecosystem-based Adaptation Interventions (TREBAI) project to be implemented in St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Fundación REDDOM will to protect a wildlife corridor in Lagunas de Nisibón, Dominican Republic, with the goal of increasing community livelihoods resilience to storms through ecosystem conservation.

IAMovement will deploy green infrastructure and nature-based solutions across the southeastern Caribbean through Green Infrastructure and Nature-based Solutions for EbA, covering Dominica, Grenada (including Carriacou), Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Montserrat, and Trinidad & Tobago (co-financed).

Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral, Inc. (IDDI) has been awarded the RSM-ECO Montecristi project, which focuses on resilient and sustainable management of coastal marine ecosystems in the Province of Montecristi, Dominican Republic.

Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) will implement Healthy Ecosystems and Climate-Resilient Coastal Communities in Cuba, leveraging protected areas as a key mechanism for ecosystem-based adaptation.

Together, these projects reflect the EbA Facility's commitment to build resilience and reduce vulnerability of people and economies to climate change in the insular Caribbean.
